He was the council’s unanimous choice to replace Margie Rose, who resigned last May.

Zanoni’s first day on the job will be May 20.

He says he already has several items on his to-do list.

The first will be addressing the structure at City Hall.

“(I’m) trying to build a strong team in all areas, but focused first on Development Services, on our streets and infrastructure and some of those other areas that impact the quality of life of the residents of Corpus Christi,” Zanoni said.

New Corpus Christi City Manager Peter Zanoni, 50, is a native of Mexico, Maine.

The city is offering Zanoni an annual base salary of $300,000.
