Today is the day to celebrate administrative professionals.
It used to be known as Secretaries Day or Admin Day.
It is observed on the Wednesday of the last full week in April of each year.
For the last 13 years, Rotary Club of Southside Corpus Christi holds a luncheon at the Corpus Christi Country Club to celebrate administrative professionals across our community.
This year’s theme: Be the inspiration and our Katia Uriarte was the keynote speaker.
Katia talked about the inspiration in her life: her mom.
Christine Udeami, president of Rotary Club of Southside Corpus Christi, described the reason for her organization’s involvement in celebrating them.
“We recognize administrative professionals keep the economy going and we recognize the impact they have on our communities, the impact they have on our lives and make everybody look good,” Udeami said. “We want them to know we are celebrating them and they are our unsung heroes.”
This event is the club’s biggest fundraiser of the year.
The money is used to fund several projects they do including building wheelchair ramps for the otherwise homebound in the Coastal Bend.
