Whataburger again ranked among the nation’s best in USA Today’s annual poll of the nation’s best regional fast-food restaurants.
And in earning the honor, the San Antonio-based and Corpus Christi-developed hamburger chain earned ranked third nationally. That ranking was higher than In-N-Out, the California-based chain that is attempting to usurp Whataburger in its own backyard in several large Texas markets. In-N-Out ranked fifth.
The only chains in front of Whataburger were No. 1 Habit Burger, a California-based chain famous for its flame-broiled burgers and No. 2 Pal’s Sudden Service, a Tennessee/Virginia chain renowned for its burgers and chili dogs.
Here’s a look at the national rankings.
- Habit Burger
- Pal’s Sudden Service
- Whataburger
- Sheetz
- In-N-Out Burger
- Quaker Steak & Lube
- Cook Out
- Krystal
- Culver’s
