Firefighters stopped by the Ark Assessment Center today to provide some Easter cheer for the kids there.

The Ark is an emergency shelter for children up to 17 years old that have been removed from their homes by CPS and have nowhere else to go.

This afternoon, the center was given Easter baskets and toys provided by the Corpus Christi Fire Department.

“Anytime we can give back to the kids and the kids feel good to get a basket, get some goodies at this time,” Corpus Christi firefighter Joseph Brunemier said. “It’s a great, great cause. It makes them feel a little bit better, too.”

The Ark Center has helped more than 3,000 kids since it opened.
