Starting a business can be scary and difficult. Especially in a town like Corpus Christi, where the resources can be hard to find.

But Nebraska native Nikki Riojas says when she moved to Corpus Christi she wanted to find that sense of community within businesses.

Riojas founded the Women’s Entrepreneur Society in Corpus Christi in 2017 and has opened her own store Thirteen & Market and a new clothing line called, Made in Corpus Christi (1524 S. Staples St. inside Thirteen & Market (about 2 blocks down from Six Points in the Milestones Building), where all of the products are printed, engraved and manufactured in the city.

She said that creating that sense of community and getting people to spend their money at local businesses will get more people to stay in town.

Riojas says for entrepreneurs who have a business they want to get started or build up, they can meet with her and learn if they would like to have their items sold in the Thirteen & Market store.
