The Del Mar College Board of Regents swore in its newest member today when Libby Averyt was selected to fill an at-large seat on the board.
Averyt was selected yesterday to fill a seat left vacant when Trey McCampbell resigned at the end of December.
Averyt was one of three finalists for the position.
“I understand the importance that Del Mar brings to this community in terms of providing a skilled workforce and lifelong learners,” Averyt said. “I wanted to be a part of that future in helping Corpus Christi and all of South Texas be more successful.”
Averyt worked at the Corpus Christi Caller-Times for three decades. She’s currently the United Way’s chief development officer.
