Four-legged friends gain useful training at the Corpus Christi International Airport

Workers with the Go Team Therapy Crisis and Airport Dogs partnered with Sit Means Sit dog training helping pups gain skills for proper airport procedures and etiquette.

This was a hands-on course that taught canines how to walk up and down escalators, to even maintaining calm composure inside an elevator.

However, a huge task was passing through security with TSA agents on their own.

“You have to be able to leave them sat you have to walk through the metal detector while they are sitting and then whenever they tell you, you can call your dog through and then you sit them and then you make sure that they pass with flying colors with no medal either,” says Casey Wirick.

Passing these doggie lessons will allow them to have access for therapeutic purposes wherever they are needed.

At the airport, trainers say these stress buster, four-legged friends, are used to work with the TSA agents, create positive moods for delayed flights, and interact with crowds.
