A 29-year-old man was taken to an area hospital after an accident Friday afternoon on northbound Interstate 37 where he was ejected from his vehicle.

Corpus Christi Police Lt. Maria Huerta-Garcia said that the vehicle was headed in the 13300 block of the interstate just north of the intersection with U.S. 77 when he lost control of the vehicle. Huerta-Garcia said that witnesses reported the car rolled over several times before the man was ejected from the car.

The man, who was not identified, was transported to an area hospital where he is in stable condition, Huerta-Garcia said.

Another truck behind the vehicle then had a crash in what Huerta-Garcia said were separate accidents. The second vehicle was immediately behind the first car at the curb when he lost control of his vehicle while watching the first accident transpire.

Although it was damp when the accident occurred, Huerta-Garcia said that speed could be a factor in the crashes.

Both drivers were from out of town, Huerta-Garcia said.
