Just seven months ago, they were police cadets.

But since then, the 23 members of the city’s 77th police academy have earned the title “police officer.”

This year’s class included six women. And today was graduation for all of them at the Selena Auditorium.

Now comes the tough part, which is serving the community.

But it’s also the most rewarding part of the job.

“Being a police officer is probably one of the best things I’m ever going to do in my life,” new CCPD officer Taylor Brambila said. “Hopefully, I can live up to everybody’s expectations in how I serve this community.”

By the way, Officer Bramblia tells us he wants to become chief of police some day.

Our congratulations to him and all the other new officers.
