The O.N. Stevens Water Treatment Plant at 13101 Leopard Street will be conducting a hazmat drill today.
First responders will take part in the event from 9:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.
During the drill, northwest Corpus Christi will notice a green/yellow colored smoke coming from the plant (between 9:00 a.m. and 10:00 a.m.) and a large presence of emergency vehicles.
The training is expected to impact traffic and signs will be placed along Leopard Street to alert motorists for detours.
For safety reasons, residents are asked to avoid the area until the drill is complete.
