A 33-year-old Falfurrias man was killed in a car accident on U.S. Highway 281, two miles south of Premont in Jim Wells County.
Ricardo Rodriguez was hit in an accident at approximately 9:38 p.m. Tuesday after he was hit by the vehicle. He was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident, Department of Public Safety officials said.
The preliminary DPS investigation revealed that Rodriguez was hit by a 2011 Chevrolet Cruze vehicle driven by a man traveling southbound on U.S. 281. The area is dark and not lighted in that area.
DPS officials are continuing their investigation into the accident.
