Some middle school students tried their hand at selling cars over at Ed Hicks Imports today.

Actually, it was for a professional skills competition.

A handful of students from the Incarnate Word Academy Middle Level participated in the Amazing Angel Shake competition.

Students were judged on skills like handshaking, appearance and confidence.

They also did a 30-second commercial using a script they were given the night before.

Gloria Hicks, the owner of Ed Hicks Imports and an educational advocate, says she is impressed with their level of skills.

“This is an amazing group,” Hicks said. “I’ve been blown away by what I’ve heard already. I think we’re gonna get rid of Charlie and have these young people do our commercials.”

This is the second year the school has held this competition.
