Drive anywhere these days, you’ll come up against some road work that might force a detour, work-around or a longer-than-average wait in traffic.
But is all the work making a dent in the city’s mammoth street maintenance and repair program?
6 Investigates asked, and the city responded.
Turns out, you can measure whether the city’s making progress by the square yard, as in, 887,157 square yards worth of street maintenance and repairs done this year.
That number includes all seal coats, overlays, patches, bond project (which are rebuild jobs) and even a few of the residential street repair problems we’ve highlighted, in years past.
