Hundreds of Coastal Bend residents gathered for a solemn ceremony over at the Coastal Bend State Veterans Cemetery.
A bittersweet scene played out Saturday morning as folks took some time out of their lives to honor some of our local fallen military heroes.
This photo was taken at our local observance of the “Wreaths Across America” event. The ceremony takes place at more than 1,400 locations around the United States every December.
More than two thousand wreaths were placed on graves at the cemetery, some placed by family members and others by volunteers.
