A car crash sends one Corpus Christi police officer to the hospital.
It happened early Saturday just before 1:00 am. That’s when CCPD responded to reports of a DWI related car accident on SPID near the Ayers Street exit.
As officers arrived on the scene, another vehicle accidentally rear-ended one of the parked police cars.
The officer was reportedly trapped for a short time inside the vehicle. We’re told he was taken to the hospital and was treated for minor injuries.
Texas state law mandates that all drivers either slow down or move their vehicles to another lane on the highway when approaching any emergency vehicles with flashing lights.
