The most popular man this time of year made a visit to Zavala Elementary School this morning, bringing some early gifts to students at the school.
Santa Claus made his yearly delivery of an “Elf on the Shelf” and “Santa cams.”
These deliveries are the idea that Zavala teacher Prisilda Herrera started 5 years ago at the school, It is meant to help promote good classroom behavior, particularly around the holidays.
“I feel so happy and great,” first-grade student April said.
Faculty members say the deliveries have helped students behave better because Santa Claus is watching them.
“It’s about keeping a positive culture … a culture of kindness and gratitude. And we here at Zavala, that’s what we’re doing.”
Teachers say they love the reaction of the kids when Santa walks into their classrooms.
