Get ready to party Thursday night at the Art Museum of South Texas. The second annual Local’s List Party starts at 6:30 p.m. and it promises to be a great time. Jordan Regas, publisher of The Bend Magazine, calls the event "a party." "The local’s list is our best of the city-type event," he said. "So whether someone’s been here for one year or 100 years, they’re going to understand their community in a deeper way and hopefully discover something new they didn’t know about."The local’s list is voted on by The Bend readers. "They nominate. They vote. They pick their favorites," Regas said. "We kind of let them create this list that’s why its called the locals List. They own it. Its their list."One of the things we try to get across is the local element of our community. We always want to talk about our local people. Our local restaurants that are doing good things here and so basically we decided ‘hey, if people are going to vote on their favorite places then let’s highlight their favorite hot spots’ that they like to visit and provide an opportunity to take a group of those people and put them in one place."Our own Katia Uriarte will emcee. El Dusty and Chicas Rock will perform. BKK,  The Post and several other restaurants will be present handing out food and drink samples. "(We’d like) the community and our readers experience all the things they love about the Coastal bend in one night and in one cool environment." Regas said. "It’s a party. its not a business showcase. The people there have already won. The issue is already out. We know who the winners are but it’s just a place to go and to experience the best of the Coastal Bend in one place and experience what the locals love."The event will take place at The Art Museum of South Texas, 1902 N Shoreline Blvd. Tickets are $40 per person and are available at this link.
