A Southside family made the best out of a rain event that caused flooding in their neighborhood.
KRIS 6 News viewer Chris Perez says his daughter decided to make the best out of the flooded situation and chose to get the family kayak and float around their neighborhood near Schanen Estates Elementary School Sunday afternoon.
Pictures and a video Perez posted on his social media page shows the water to be more than enough for the kayak to not touch the street.
"Immediately after the rain stopped," Perez messaged KRIS 6 News," the girls just want to have fun."
Meteorologist Juan Acuna says Corpus Christi and out towards Flour Bluff and the Corpus Christi NAS saw plenty of rainfall early this morning and again this afternoon with totals pushing 3-6 inches across the area.
