Since 1969, the Rockport Art Festival has been the place to be in July.
The event, hosted by the Rockport Center for the Arts (106 S. Austin Street), typically draws more than 10,000 people each year and features the work of more than 120 artists and craftsmen from here in Texas, as well as from across the nation.
As those who have attended the festival in the past will tell you, it is the quality of paintings, ceramics, jewelry, woodwork, glasswork, metal sculptures and furniture that you find at this event which has made it one of the most prestigious and fun art shows in the southern U.S.
In addition to plenty of food and drink offerings, entertainment will be provided by various artists inside a giant air-conditioned tent. A children’s activity tent offers youngsters the opportunity to create some of their own art work. In addition, numerous art galleries in Rockport will be open during the weekend.
The Rockport Art Festival will be held at the Fairgrounds adjacent to Rockport Harbor (on Navigation Circle) on Saturday, July 7th from 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM, and again on Sunday, July 8th from 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM. Tickets are $8 for adults on Saturday and $7 for adults on Sunday. Children 12 and under will be admitted for just $1.
2-day VIP tickets may also be purchased for $10 at the Rockport Center for the Arts.
