A mistrial has been declared in the case of a Corpus Christi man accused of fatally shooting his former father-in-law.
Jurors were released Wednesday evening after a mistrial was declared in the 347th District Court, according to officials. There, Jacob Nunez had been on trial on murder accusations.
As we’ve reported, Nunez was accused of a fatal shooting at La Armada housing project back in July 2017, that left 52-year-old Mike Ramos dead. Prosecutors said Ramos was Nunez’ ex-father-in-law.
Following the mistrial declaration, Nunez was said to be out of jail on a bond. There was no word on how prosecutors plan to proceed with the case moving forward.
This is a developing story. We’ll provide further updates as soon as we’re able.
