There’s some relief on the way from mosquitoes that are on the prowl.

Animal Care Services Program Manager Mike Gillis tells KRIS 6 News vector control crews will begin spraying at 7:45 p.m.

There’s no word yet on what parts of the city they will spray.

Meanwhile, the city of Portland has been proactive in its fight with mosquitoes.

Portland General Services Superintendent Joshua Irvin said as soon as the rain stopped, crews started treating ditches and waterways with larvacide on Friday and retreated them on Monday.

Crews in Portland will begin spraying for mosquitoes Tuesday night between 8pm and 11 pm. Their morning spray schedule will be held between 4 a.m. and 6 a.m.
