Fuel shipment center to transport gasoline from U.S. to Mexico

A new gasoline and diesel fuel shipment center is in the works.
The industrial facility is being proposed on state Highway 44 near the Corpus Christi International Airport. 
That’s where an unnamed company has plans to build a bulk storage facility with a rail yard to send shipments of diesel and gasoline from the U.S. to Mexico, according to a city zoning report. 
But first a special zoning permit is needed. 
On Tuesday, the City Council will have a public hearing and discuss a special permit for the facility to build on a 233 acre tract adjacent to Bay LTD. City staff recommended approval with a list of special permit conditions, which included a requirement that the project submit a building permit application within 12 months. 
The facility is expected to create 45 new full-time jobs, according to the zoning report.
