A fire destroyed a family’s kitchen in Calallen.
Just before 11 a.m. Monday morning, a fire broke out inside the home on the 11800 block of Jacob Street. That’s near Leopard Street and Callicoatte Road.
Corpus Christi Fire Department Battalion Chief Robin McGill said the man in the home told fire crews he had just made a pot of coffee when the fire broke out. He quickly ran out of his home. Moments later, fire crews arrived and put the fire out within ten minutes.
Meanwhile, fire investigators are looking into what started the fire.
