Twelve Zavala Elementary School students celebrated their reading accomplishments today with a pizza party and a pep talk form a special guest speaker.
The students were honored for being the best readers in the school for the past six weeks.
Peter Piper Pizza donated food for the event, and KRIS 6 News’ Katia Uriarte was on hand to congratulate the students and offer words of encouragement.
The students honored today were:
- Kindergarten: Jesus Ventura and Jesse Bautista DeLaFuente
- First Grade: Daniela Escarzaga and Samuel Trevino
- Second Grade: Skye Luna and Nicolas Chavarria
- Third Grade: Mariana Ortiz and Jaslene Alvarez
- Fourth Grade: Lily Rodriguez and Soofia Alonso Cantu
- Fifth Grade: Samuel Gonzales and Eduardo Hernandez
