Family and friends surrounded Fallon Wood Wednesday at a vigil remembering her daughter Breanna, exactly one year after her police found Breanna’s body.
"I just can’t believe it’s been a year,” said Fallon Wood.
Breanna Wood disappeared in October of 2016, she was found last January. Since then, Fallon Wood devoted her energy to finding justice for her daughter.
“I haven’t grieved because I can’t yet, I have to do my job,” said Wood. “I told her I’d never stop until justice is there for her, then I’ll grieve.”
Several suspects were charged in connection with Breanna’s murder. Comfort for a mother leaning on family and friends as she copes with her loss.
“They’re the ones who make me strong.” said Fallon. “If it weren’t for them, I think it would be very hard to go through what I’m going through.”
Through songs, prayers, and tears; those close to Breanna said goodbye. Again.
“My beautiful daughter, I miss her so much,” said Fallon.
Joseph Tejada is accused of killing Breanna. He and two other suspects were charged with capital murder. They face the death penalty.
Four other suspects were also charged in the case.
