With the new tax bill making its way through Congress, the question on many people’s minds is whether or not their taxes will be affected.
The KRIS 6 Fact Check team asked local accountant Bill Clark, and he says the the Trump plan has upsides and downsides for virtually everyone.
Clark says the group most likely to benefit will be higher end, middle-income earners with children, households that earn between $100,000 and $200,000 annually.
However, Clark says, households that earn $50,000 or less may see their taxes go up.
"There are going to be some low to middle-income taxpayers who have had high deductions that are probably going to pay a higher tax," Clark said.
In the meantime, Clark says everyone is watching and waiting on what the Senate, which now has the bill, will do.
