METAIRIE, La. (AP) — A New Orleans-based hospital system says a baby born after only 22 weeks in the womb is healthy and at home after 19 weeks in intensive care.
Tulane Health System spokeswoman Sarah Balyeat says Russell William Appold Jr. is the youngest gestational-age baby to “graduate” from intensive care in the hospital system.
Russell's departure on Thursday from Tulane Lakeside Hospital in Metairie was marked by a min-parade through a hospital's hallway.
