WATCH LIVE: Officer Alan McCollum's funeral services will be available digitally on KRISTV.com

CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — KRIS 6 News will have live coverage Alan McCollum's funeral services throughout the day.

The funeral service is scheduled for 11:30 a.m. today at Church Unlimited off Crosstown Extension and Weber Road.

If you can't make the services, we'll be streaming the services live on KRISTV.com and our Facebook page.

Later, we'll have team coverage from the funeral services from several reporters who will be at the site on all of our newscasts throughout the day, beginning on KRIS 6 News at Noon.

McCollum, 46, was hit and killed by a vehicle while conducting a traffic stop on SPID on Jan. 31.

The vehicle that struck officer McCollum was driven by 26 year-old Brandon Portillo, who was arrested, booked, and charged with intoxication manslaughter, intoxication assault, and driving with a suspended license.

Officer McCollum served with the Corpus Christi Police Department for seven years and was a 21-year highly decorated veteran of the United States Army.

McCollum, who is survived by his wife and three children, was also a member of the Honor Guard and SWAT Team.

The burial will be held at the Coastal Bend State Veterans Cemetery at 2 p.m. this afternoon.
