5/8 updates:
6 p.m. Brooks Co. has told KRIS 6 News one of its employees has been diagnosed with COVID-19. Staff that has come in contact with the employee has been told to self-isolate.
4:48 p.m. STX announced it will begin testing all of its employees beginning Saturday for COVID-19 after the county confirmed seven of its employees were being treated for the novel coronavirus.
4:44 p.m. Nueces Co. is reporting 5 new diagnosed cases of COVID-19. That makes a total of 128 diagnosed cases and 73 have recovered.
3:15 p.m. San Patricio Co. is reporting one new diagnosed case of COVID-19. That makes six active cases in that county.
5/7 updates:
5:20 p.m. Nueces County Health District confirms three (3) people at a local halfway house have tested positive for covid 19
5:20 p.m. Nueces County Health District confirms seven (7) employees at STX Beef were diagnosed with COVID-19. Six live in Nueces County and one does not live in the county.
4:35 p.m. Nueces County adds six (6) cases to its case count bringing the total to 123. 73 people have recoverd. 3 are in the ICU.
3:15 p.m. San Patricio county reported two (2) new cases and tests conducted bringing the County’s COVID-19 case count to 16. There are now 5 active cases.
1 p.m. Nueces County Health District confirms six (6) employees at STX Beef are infected with COVID-19.
5/6 updates:
6:30 p.m. A Corpus Christi man was reported to have died from COVID-19 at a Galveston Hospital according to his family.
5:30 p.m. In Wednesday's city/county COVID-19 daily briefing, Annette Rodriguez with the Nueces County Health District said ahandful of employees at the local processing plant STX Beef (formerly Sam Kane) tested positive for the virus. She did not know if it was 3 or 4 exactly but she added that the health department recieved the first positive result Monday.
4:45 p.m. Nueces County reported 3 new cases bringing the county's COVID-19 case count to 117. 73 have recovered and 2 are in ICU.
3:50 p.m. San Patricio County reported one new case bringing the county’s COVID-19 case count to 14, 3 of which are active. The new case was found to be “Known Close Contact.” The case reported Tuesday, May 5 was found to be “Unknown/Community Spread.”
5/5 updates:
10 p.m. Local health care worker tests positive for COVID-19
4:35 p.m. Nueces County is reporting one additional case bringing the county's COVID-19 case count to 114. 66 people have recovered. 4 people are hospitalized and 2 of those are in ICU.
4:30 p.m. San Patricio County reported one (1) new case bringing the county’s COVID-19 case count to 13. There are currently 2 active cases.
2:30 p.m. Governor Abbott announces salons can open May 8th.
10:05 a.m. According to a study from Johns Hopkins University,more than 250,000 people worldwidehave died of the coronavirus. More than 68,000 of those fatalities have come in the United States.
5/4 updates:
4:30 p.m. Nueces County has reported six (6) new cases bringing the total to 113. 66 people have recovered and 1 person is in the ICU.
CORRECTION: Ingleside removed as city where new case reported.
3 p.m. San Patricio County reported one (1) new case and test conducted. This brings the County’s COVID-19 case count to 12 with one still active. The County extends its Declaration of Local State of Disaster Order for an additional 30 days.
2:45 p.m. Jim Wells County Judge Juan Rodriguez has boosted capacities for many businesses in the country from 25 percent to 50 percent.
5/3 updates:
4:28 p.m. update: No new reported cases in Nueces County. Also, no reported recoveries. Between the Nueces County Health district and local hospitals, Nueces County says that 2913 tests have been conducted so far.

5/2 updates:
Nueces County confirms a single new positive COVID-19 test. The number of recoveries has also increased by one.
San Patricio County confirms no new cases.
