If you want to catch a glimpse of an extraterrestrial visitor, you'll need to get up pretty early and get away from city lights.

This is time lapse video of the comet known as "Neowise."

It's visible in the northeast sky about an hour or so before sunrise.

Recent images were recorded in Ireland, but it's also visible in the U.S.

NASA says it should be visible in the early morning hours until Saturday.

After that, comet "Neowise" will be visible after sunset until mid-August.

If you miss it, the comet is due to make a return trip to earth in about 6,800.
