TAMU-CC president to be honored as Hometown Hero

CORPUS CHRISTI, TX — The Southside Rotary Club will honor Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi President Kelly M. Miller as its 2020 Hometown Hero.

The fundraising dinner will begin at 6 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 13, 2020 in TAMU-CC’s Anchor Ballroom, 6300 Ocean Drive. The club will present Dr. Miller with an honorary Paul Harris Fellow Award, which signifies collective contributions of $1,000 from club members to the Rotary Foundation in her honor.

The tribute will celebrate Dr. Miller’s outstanding service to the people of south Texas during her more than 25 years in various capacities at Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi. A video will chronicle Dr. Miller’s accomplishments.

This event will include a silent auction and a Paul Harris Award raffle. Proceeds will benefit Southside Rotary service projects, which include the construction of wheelchair ramps and K-12 character and leadership programs throughout the community. Money will also be used for scholarships to TAMU-CC and other projects benefiting Rotary International initiatives.

Tickets are $75 each or $120 per couple and $480 per table.

Sponsorship levels are available at $1,500, $2,500, $5,000 and $10,000.
