CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — The Art Center of Corpus Christi is bringing crazy creativity to the downtown area this weekend with Arts Alive.

Back for its fourth year, the festival is a celebration of artistic expression. This hands-on, immersive and unique experience brings visitors and artists together to show that art is more than just paint on canvas.

From steam-roller printmaking to face painting, Raku pottery firing to dance demonstrations, this festival has a little something for everyone to enjoy.

Other events include:

1/2K by the Bay
Everything gets started with this .5K race you run (or walk) while holding a pint of beer! The goal is to finish as quickly as possible while keeping the beer above the line on the official running cup. All participants receive an official running cup, their choice of local craft beers (one running and one reward), a bottle opener participation medal and two extra admission wristbands for Arts Alive. Go to the Art Center website to register.

Crazy Creativity
Ever heard of a steamroller making art? Watch as this massive machine create beautiful artwork. Choose a design and Full Court Press will print it on a t-shirt while you watch. Learn pro sandcastle building tips, watch wood blocks become beautiful bowls or help make a mosaic bench. Dozens of art demonstrations will be taking place non-stop all weekend.

Live Bands
Catch some good vibes in the park when Magnus kicks off the fun at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, with performances to follow by: Soul Fire, Roams with Lions, Zac Munoz and Five Card Draw. Sunday’s lineup includes: Yosh & Yimmy and the Michael Burtts Band.

Creative Eats & Drinks
Arts Alive has selected some of the best food trucks from around the Coastal Bend: Jaycob's Delicious Fishes, Gordo’s Good Eats, Redline Burgers, Rainbow Snoball, Lemon Shakers and Fulton Kettle Corn.

BONUS: There will also be craft beers from these local breweries: Lorelei Brewery, Lazy Beach Brewing, Rebel Toad, B&J's and Nueces Brewing Co., to be enjoyed in the Beer Garden.

The Art of Dance
Island Dance Company will take over the Meadows Gallery for a sneak peak performance of choreography coming to the Bailando festival in October.

Arts Alive will run from Noon to 10 p.m. Saturday, and from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Sunday at the Art Center of Corpus Christi (100 N. Shoreline Blvd.).

Tickets are $5 for adults, and $1 for children 12 and under.
