CORPUS CHRISTI, TX — For the past 7 years, Ali Garcia, owner of Ali's Cafe is offering free Thanksgiving meals for the community. Garcia says she is really hoping to reach out to the ones that need it most, including the homeless and the less fortunate.

Garcia says she can only give as much that is donated.

She is still in need of paper plates, silverware, bottled waters, instant mash, big cans of corn, bread and turkeys. Garcia says she begins cooking days ahead of time and hopes to reach out to more people this year than last, "within 2 and half hours we served 460 people last year. By 3 o'clock, 3 p.m. we were out of here."

Garcia says typically the place is packed with 80 chairs and regulars and locals come for the free meal. This year, she hopes to reach out to the homeless to get more people that need a hot meal in for their thanksgiving plate. "I really would like for the homeless or someone that really really needs a hot meal to come and eat. They always need some items, ya know, and I think they should be coming here."

The Free Thanksgiving meal will be held from noon until food runs out on Wednesday, November 27.
