CORPUS CHRISTI, TX — Lace up the running shoes and head to Whataburger Field Saturday for the 2019 Harbor Half Marathon & Relay/10K/5K presented by Flint Hills Resources.

The Harbor Half is considered the “highest half in Texas” and this premier running event will host over 800 participants from across Texas and throughout the United States.

The out-and-back route starts at 7:30 a.m. at the Whataburger Field Side Entrance off of Port Street.

Half Marathon runners will tackle the 13.1 mile-route to Sunset Lake Park and back, and the relay runners will split the route with Runner 1 starting at Whataburger Field and making the handoff to Runner 2 at Sunset Lake.

The 5K/10K route will go from Whataburger Field to just over the Harbor Bridge. The 5K runners will finish on North Beach and 10K participants will turn around and run back across the bridge and finish at Whataburger Field.

Runners have a bird’s eye view of the Corpus Christi skyline, Nueces Bay, U.S.S. Lexington, Texas State Aquarium, Whataburger Field and Port of Corpus Christi, as well as the chance to run through city streets, the North Beach area, the bridge and coastal wetlands.

The course also covers two counties (Nueces and San Patricio) and two cities (Corpus Christi and Portland).

Proceeds will benefit Junior Achievement of the Coastal Bend.
