KINGSVILLE, Texas — With events being canceled and postponed due to the global pandemic, the city of Kingsville will host their Festival De La Loteria online.

Festival de la Loteria will be live streamed from downtown Kingsville online for people to participate safely from home.

"This year’s event would have been tomorrow on Main Street. And Kingsville is determined to continue the celebration – digitally and safely," said representative Janine Reyes in a press release.

The virtual Loteria will start Saturday at 11 a.m. on the Kingsville visitors center Facebook page. Entry is free and the city of Kingsville will be giving away prizes.

"Just log on, pick your Loteria characters. and be the first to claim a winning virtual card – and you can win anything from local restaurant gift cards, award winning Wild Horse Distillery, and of course some great King Ranch prizes.

The city says that the original in-person festival will happen at a safer time with even more prizes.
