CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — The Christus Spohn Health System raised a lot of money for the American Heart Association during this year's Heart Walk.
A check for just more than $46,000 was presented to the Heart Association this morning at Spohn Shoreline Hospital.
Christus Spohn was the top walk team this year.
And Dr. Osbert Blow - the Chief Medical Officer at Spohn Shoreline - was the top individual fundraiser.
“From what I've been told, the great news is that 75 cents on every dollar stays in our community in some way shape or form which is amazing,” Blow said. “So really when you are contributing, you're contributing to the betterment of your community.
The folks with the Heart Association echo that sentiment.
The money will help with various education and outreach programs in Coastal Bend communities.
