It is not that often that a Pet of the Week chooses to sleep through their television debut. In fact, as best we can recall, it has never happened at KRIS 6.

That is, until now.

A 15-week-old puppy named Cristina now holds the singular honor of being the first Corpus Christi Animal Care Services studio guest to simply snooze her way through an interview segment. Perhaps that says more about the interviewer than the interviewee, but let’s save that for another article on another website.

As for this one, we should tell you that Cristina is a Lab mix with several brothers and sisters, and all are available for adoption from CCACS.

To see about adopting this sweet girl or any of the animals at CCACS, drop by 2626 Holly Road any afternoon from 1 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. You may also give them a call at (361) 826-4630.

On Saturday, CCACS will be part of the Grand Opening of the all-new Hicks Family Subaru (3615 S. Padre Island Dr.) from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Not only will they have free pet adoptions, but  there will also be free dog microchipping, free beginner dog training classes, Petco giveaways, nail clipping services for dogs, a Barkaritaville tent, Subaru merchandise giveaways, a pet tag engraver, free food and beverages and more. For details, visit www.hicksfamilysubaru.com.

Be sure to visit the CCACS Facebook page: www.facebook.com/corpuschristianimalcareservices.

You can also go to www.PetHarbor.com where you will find pictures and information on all of the animals who are brought to CCACS.

If you use Instagram and Snapchat, simply search for Corpus Christi Animal Care.
