The Corpus Christi Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. will once again host their annual festivities to celebrate the life and legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.

This year’s gatherings will center on the theme of “Life, Liberty and Justice for All.”

The 2-day event will begin with an Interfaith Prayer Service on Sunday at the Brooks AME Worship Center (2101 N. Port Ave.). Activities will be held from 6:00 to 7:30 p.m., with refreshments to follow.

Then on Monday, Jan. 21, the 33rd Annual MLK Commemorative March will start at the Nueces County Courthouse (901 Leopard St.) at Noon. The opening ceremony will be held in the Central Jury Room, followed by the march, which will begin on the Lipan St. side of the courthouse.

The march will end at the Episcopal Church of the Good Shepherd (700 S. Upper Broadway), at which time a program will be presented to include performances from the Kingdom of Christ Community Singers, an interdenominational ensemble whose members represent churches from Corpus Christi to Kingsville.

The RTA will provide free shuttle service between the courthouse and the Episcopal Church of the Good Shepherd.
