For children in foster care, the holidays can be a reminder of their separation from all they know and love.
To help give these children an opportunity to enjoy the holiday season, SAMES Ford is hosting the 4th Annual SAMES Ford Santa Cause CASA Toy Drive, collecting donations at the dealership (4721 Ayers St.) for CASA of the Coastal Bend.
The toy drive will wrap up this Saturday during the Holiday Festival for CASA, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. The event will feature holiday themed family activities, giveaways from radio stations The Beach 96.5 and Wild 105.5, as well as treats and entertainment throughout the day. Everyone is invited to stop by.
From now until the 15th, the public is asked to donate unwrapped new items for newborns to 18 year olds.
These children were removed from their homes due to abuse or neglect. CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocates) of the Coastal Bend trains volunteers to advocate for the best interests of children in foster care. The items collected during the toy drive will be delivered by CASA volunteers to the foster children they serve.
