If there are young athletes in your house, then this summer could potentially be a busy one!

The Corpus Christi Parks and Recreation Department is offering nine different Summer Youth Sports Camps that will be held from June 4th to August 8th for boys and girls ages 6-18.

These camps take place in safe, fun and supervised settings at the Corpus Christi Gym (3202 Cabaniss Parkway), and Greenwood Sports Complex (4501 Greenwood Drive).

Camps offered this summer are Basketball, Baseball, Softball, Soccer, Football, Volleyball, Cheer, Dance and Speed & Agility.

These camps introduce children to the fundamental skills of the different sports and instruct them on how to play each game. Through targeted skills training and practice using strategies and plays, experienced players will sharpen their skills to advance their overall game.

Online registration is open until the first day of each camp. Call 826-PLAY or visit register.ccparkandrec.com. The cost is $65 per camp.

New this year, there will be a three-week pilot program for girls and boys ages 7-14 who are interested in participating in an Indoor Soccer League.

The six-game season (2 games per week) will run from July 9th to 23rd.

The league introduces children to the fundamentals of indoor soccer (futsal). Participants will be supervised while they learn passing, ball control, positioning and other important skills. The program provides structure and knowledge and promotes a healthy lifestyle that incorporates recreational sports.

Online registration takes place until June24th at register.ccparkandrec.com. The cost is $60 per youth. Late registration will be available for $75 per youth from June 25th to July 1st.
