The Tarpon Inn, a long-standing staple of the Port Aransas community has officially reopened after closing due to damage from Hurricane Harvey.

Eight months ago, to the day, Hurricane Harvey made landfall just a few minutes north of Port Aransas, with the island city suffering widespread damage.

Among the casualties was the Tarpon Inn, which was forced to close for repairs. The hotel was down, but definitely not out.

Now, eight months to the day later, The Tarpon Inn has officially reopened. The company made the announcement on their Facebook page.

As one of the city’s hotels/resorts, the Tarpon Inn adds a welcome boost to the city’s ability to support its vital tourism industry; an industry which has become even more important in the days following Harvey.
