Big Bloom and Dollar Day at Botanical Gardens

More than 6,000 people are expected to show up once again at the South Texas Botanical Gardens and Nature Center (8545 S. Staples St.) for the annual Big Bloom mega Plant Sale, Garden Festival and Dollar Day!

Beside the bargain-price admission of just $1, this gathering offers a garden full of entertaining learning activities, which include an on-you-own-tour of the entire Botanical Gardens, and an absolute plethora of colorful plants for sale.

Nueces Master Gardeners, Plumeria Society of South Texas and the Corpus Christi Rose Society will also be on hand to answer plant selection and horticulture questions.

Several family-friendly activities will be available throughout the day, including butterfly and lady bug releases, nature trail walks-and-talks, Resident Reptile Shows and Parrot Talks, the Monkey Mansion Tree House and inflatables for the kids

Big Bloom will take place Saturday, April 7th from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM. Members will be admitted free, and may begin shopping at 8:00 AM.

Shoppers are encouraged to bring their own plant carriers.
