CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — Your weather pattern during the first half of this week will remain fairly quiet, with only isolated showers and warm afternoons, but an extended wet weather scenario is expected by late week.

While moisture is abundant early week, the atmosphere will be only marginally unstable with weak upper level impulses grazing the region.

However, by Thursday a much more potent upper level storm system begins to impinge on the state.

That will mean increasing chances for showers and thunderstorms beginning Thursday, becoming more numerous Friday and Saturday before ending late Sunday.

Expect slightly cooler air arriving Friday and again on Sunday. We'll have highs in the 80s that will drop to the 70s Friday through Sunday and Monday of next week.
