CORPUS CHRISTI, TX — Light winds associated with weak high pressure over the region have combined with dry upper air conditions to allow temperatures above 90 degrees in the Coastal Bend this afternoon, but return moisture and upper air high pressure will mean a rain-less week with high heat index values.
Weekend rain chances will return. While the light wind and clear skies will allow the mercury to dip into the upper 60s around daybreak Monday, it also will allow patchy fog.
That won't last long though, and temperatures will soar into the 90s each work week afternoon.
Return flow brings humidity back into the region by Tuesday, so heat indices between 100 and 109 will be expected.
Another upper level disturbance glides into range by late Friday, allow isolated showers and thunderstorms through the weekend.
Expect highs in the upper 80s to lower 90s, with lows in the lower to middle 70s.
