CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — CCISD is implementing a new clear-bag policy for all athletic events at Cabaniss Field and Buc Stadium, but those are not the only changes you will notice.
Parking just got a whole lot easier over at Cabaniss Athletic Complex, especially over on the home side where a couple of older buildings got torn down and replaced by a brand-new parking lot. Two hundred new spaces have been made available for this coming season.
New clear plastic bags with team logos have arrived at Mira's Sports and More, and they are also available in a ladies clutch-bag size. Generic bags without logos are also available at H-E-B and Academy.
Everytime you attend an event at Cabaniss and Buc, regardless of sport, you will be required to use a clear bag. It's just a sign of the times.
“With the clear bag policy most people, like last year when we were going to the different playoff games, ladies put all their items in there, “ CCISD athletic coordinator Brenda Marshall. “We just want to see what's inside your purse. Some people used the bags to carry all sorts of items. Maybe a little jacket or things like that. It just helps speed up getting people into the stadium.”
Mira's Sports and More tells us they will be selling the clear bags at the stadiums, so if you show up and don't have one they will make them available to purchase.
