Award winning Chief Meteorologist, Dale Nelson was born in Dayton, Ohio. He received his Bachelor of Science degree in Meteorology from the University of St. Thomas in Houston and earned the prestigious American Meteorological Society Seal of Approval in 1979.

Juan Acuña joined the KRIS team happy to return to the Coastal Bend, a place he has called home for many years.

Mike Gillaspia

A native Texan, Mike has lived and worked in San Antonio, Dallas-Fort Worth and Midland-Odessa. In 2005, he and his family moved to Portland, Texas, deciding to make the Coastal Bend their permanent home.

Priscilla Torres

Priscilla Torres was born and raised in Corpus Christi. she’s a graduate of King High School and St. Mary’s University in San Antonio where she earned her Bachelor’s Degree in English-Communications.

Rick Spruill joined the KRIS news team as Chief Investigative Reporter in 2013 after five years as a print journalist with Scripps-Howard, including a stint at the Corpus Christi Caller-Times.

Tom Harris

Tom Harris began his meteorology career in Corpus Christi in 1991. He has more than 20 years of experience forecasting the weather in some of the most volatile areas in the country.

Jessica Savage joined KRIS 6 News as an investigative reporter in September 2015 and is the Sunrise Weekend Anchor. She is excited to be a part of the broadcast team after spending 8 years as a newspaper reporter.

Emily Hamilton

Emily Hamilton joined the KRIS 6 News team in June of 2016 as a multimedia journalist and has served as the Sunrise Weekend anchor.
