CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — The combination of upper level ridging to our west and Tropical Storm Cristobal to our east brought sunny, hot conditions to the Coastal Bend over the weekend, and little relief from that heat is expected this week.
A weak cold front will bring isolated showers on Wednesday. In fact, heat indices will push 105 degrees this afternoon and may exceed 110 on Tuesday as Gulf moisture is trapped beneath the dominant upper level ridge.
The upper ridge shifts into West Texas on Wednesday and allows a weak cold front to bring isolated showers to the Coastal Bend. Thereafter, the ridge builds back over the region and returns summer-like heat to South Texas.
Expect highs in the middle to upper 90s and lows in the middle to upper 70s. Rainfall totals on Wednesday will be meager.
