CORPUS CHRISTI — Naval Air Station - Corpus Christi responded to an active shooter situation on their base Thursday morning.
According to NAS-CC, the Naval Security Forces at Naval Air Station Corpus Christi responded to an active shooter at approximately 6:15 a.m. Thursday. The shooter has been neutralized.
All gates on the installation remain closed while first responders process the scene.
NCIS investigators and and local law enforcement are on scene.
Corpus Christi police also confirmed the incident on their Facebook page, stating an incident occurred at one of the gates on the base.
If you live near the area, you are asked to remain indoors.
Texas A and M Corpus Christi posted on their Facebook page they went under lock-down but reopened after the situation on the base was resolved.
