CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — Happy Tuesday, Coastal Bend!

A heat advisory is in effect for inland Nueces, inland Kleberg, and all of Jim Wells counties from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m.

Our temperatures are off to the races as some neighborhoods begin one to five degrees warmer this morning. Our afternoon high temperatures are trending above-average as we head through the middle of the week. Expect afternoon highs near 100º through Thursday; heat indices soar as high as 115º. Breezy conditions can be expected daily, with sustained winds from the south-southeast 15-25 MPH.

As early as Friday afternoon, rain chances (and our hopes) will increase. Isolated showers can be expected to dot the Coastal Bend Friday, Saturday, and Sunday as tropical moisture and another upper-level low-pressure system arrive. Not everyone will see the rain, and accumulations will range from a few hundredths to a few tenths of an inch.

In the tropics, all is quiet for now, thanks to Saharan dust. It's important to note that Saharan dust tends to decrease across the Atlantic as we near the peak of Hurricane Season (September 10th).

Have a great day!
