SINTON, Texas — The Sinton Pirates open the Class 4A baseball playoffs against Brazosport Friday in Victoria.
They are ranked second in the state, and once again, a strong contender to win a state title.
There is so much talent on this team, at least eight players will go onto play college baseball after they graduate.
Many of them will play at the Division I-level, and knowing where they will play helps take the stress away.
"It feels great knowing that I will play for the Texas Longhorns," said junior catcher Rylan Galvan. "I feel good in the back of my head that I will have that opportunity."
Sinton infielder Blake Mitchell is just a junior, but he has already committed to play at LSU.
"It feels good knowing where I will play after high school," said Mitchell. "It was an early commitment, but I feel good about LSU"
Sinton pitcher Daniel Trevino will be staying close to home.
He will play for Texas A&M-Kingsville next season.
"I got a great feel for the program at TAMU-K and coach Jason Gonzales," said Trevino. "I feel really comfortable about my situation for next year"
There are many more Pirates who will also play at the next level, but right now it is all about the playoffs and winning a state title.
